HTC ThunderBolt is one of the mobile phones that should have received an upgrade to the Android 2.3 Gingerbread platform a long time ago, but which is still stuck with the older Android 2.2 Froyo OS.

It’s a beautiful thing when older hardware gets graced with newer software. The Motorola Droid X for Verizon is the older hardware in this case, and it is now receiving a push update for Android Gingerbread, or version 2.3

The HTC Desire HD launched running on the older Android version (2.2), but was promised to be updated to Gingerbread. Well the time has now come with HTC confirming the OTA update for the HTC Desire HD is now available.
