The community of Denver is preparing for the seventh annual Old Fashioned Christmas Event.

Alicia Arter spiked her Cool-as-a-Cucumber Snack Cake with black pepper and cardamom. Arter will teach how to bake “Old Fashioned Farm Pies” at the Puyallup Fair Sept. 20 from 6 to 8 p.m.
